The faculty of Alsun at SCU believes in continuous education and encourages it with all its academic potentials. We at Alsun SCU have a wide range of undergraduates and postgraduates programs to offer for our students.

Degrees Offered
- Introductory Postgraduate Studies.
- Literature: This course serves as an introduction to literary studies. It equips the students with essential literature vocabulary and develops their understanding of critical thinking and literary analysis.
Linguistics: This course introduces the students to the science of linguistics. It guides them through the origin of the language, context, and letters. By the end of this course, students will be able to identify their most preferred area of study to carry out a postgraduate study in their chosen field later on.
Computational linguistics: This area is concerned with the automatic processing of the language. In this course, the students will learn about the critical terminology related to language and translation which is used in applied studies and research projects.
Translation and Interpretation: This course covers several approaches to translational practice; Economic, Political, Literature, and Legal. By the end of this course, the student will have mastered two foreign languages in addition to Arabic. The course aims to prepare well-qualified interpreters who can deliver credible, customized translation services to embassies, conferences, political events, and more.
Arabic Studies (for non- Arabic speakers): This course gives foreigners the opportunity to carry out postgraduate studies and research in Arabic linguistics and literature.
Professional Translation Diploma
This area of study seeks to consolidate the relationship between translation and global civilization and renaissance.
Master's Degree
Students who have finished their introductory studies are eligible to apply for this degree. In this study, the students will be exposed to a higher level of academic excellence and knowledge. Students will develop the necessary tools of research ethics, techniques, and approaches, which will be of great benefit to them in their future studies.
Doctorate Degree
Students who earned a master's degree are eligible to apply for the doctorate degree. In this study, the students will be exposed to the highest level of academic excellence and knowledge. Students will be able to add researches of their conduct in their area of specialization to the University’s library. Consequently, these researches will thrive the educational institution’s intellectual and scientific value.
One of the faculty's postgraduate programs that target to offer educational programs along the postgraduate level is characterized by quality, modernity, and the ability to deal efficiently with a rapidly changeable and complex world. Besides, providing research, counseling, and lingual services to cultural and educational institutions.
- The education period is 2 semesters (Fall- spring). each is 15 weeks. The program grants a diploma degree, a Master's degree, and a Ph.D. degree.
- The student learns 3 obligatory courses and seven specialization courses.
- In a Ph.D. degree, the student learns three courses (university requirements) and five courses (specialization courses).
- Diploma, Master's, and Ph.D. have three specializations (Language- Literature- Translation).
- 13 students registered for the Diploma.
- 3 students registered for the Master'.
- One student registered for Ph.D.

According to the faculty's council suggestion and the approval of the university's council, the Suez Canal University grants certificates and scientific specializations in the following areas (credit hours system):
- Faculty of Al-Alsun Diploma in (literature- translation- linguistics)
- Master's degree in (literature- translation- linguistics)
- Ph.D. degree in (literature- translation- linguistics)
Applying is only for Bachelor's degree holders from the Faculty of Al-Alsun with a total grade (Good) or a Bachelor's degree in Literature obtained from one of the Egyptian universities or their equivalent from a corresponding scientific institute and certified by the Higher Council of Universities.
- The education period is divided into two semesters (fall-spring).
- Diploma student studies (literature- Translation- Linguistics). 10 courses (3 obligatory- 6 elective- 1 course to choose).
- Master's student studies (literature- Translation- Linguistics). 3 obligatory, 3 electives, and 2 courses to choose from.
- Ph.D. student studies (literature- Translation- Linguistics). 3 obligatory, 3 electives, and 2 courses to choose from.
