Overview
Giving attention to the Eastern Islamic Languages started early in parallel with the renaissance of Egyptian history because the Eastern Islamic Languages represent the regional area countries and interact with our ancient, current, and future culture as it extends to Egyptian, Arabian, and Islamic tributaries. Lately, the importance of learning the Eastern Islamic Languages started along with the renaissance changes witnessed by Arab Mashreq countries. Eastern Islamic Languages and its Literature Department was the first established department in conjunction with the Faculty of Al-Alsun (SCU) establishment in 2016. The department combines two divisions:
- Turkish language and its literature
- Persian language and its literature
Vision
The Eastern Islamic Languages and its Literature department at The Faculty of Al-Alsun (SCU) with its divisions (Persian – Turkish) aspire to be a scientific beacon within the faculty's vision that acts as a lighthouse for the countries of the Suez Canal region and the Egyptian countries. The department looks forward to being a competitor with the corresponding scientific departments in Egyptian universities in the education and scientific learning field. Moreover, to participate in formulating the future of Eastern studies in language, literature, and human sciences fields without forgetting to deepen the national identity and to keep in mind national goals that enable the department to be a competitor in the regional and international area.
Mission
The Eastern Islamic Languages and its Literature department provide education, culture, and scientific research services using fields and topics of study in both divisions (Turkish – Persian) by keeping pace with the changes and global scientific advancements. The department is keen on graduating outstanding graduates able to preserve the mission and national goals and meet the nation's needs in those specializations enabling upcoming generations to be functional members of society and can deal with regional and international areas to conserve Egypt's historical and axial rank.
Goals:
- To develop the institutional hierarchy to enhance the department's competing status.
- To advance staff members and cooperative authority abilities and skills
- To promote provided services.
- To promote and support scientific research and enable it to compete with counterpart departments locally and regionally.
- To activate graduates' competing ability in working fields.
- To adhere to applying quality guidelines and asses institutional ability and its scientific-educational effectiveness.
- To open communication channels with the civil community institutes concerned with the department's specialization.
- To advance the department's role as one of the significant languages department that contributes effectively to rich exchange between literature and national and Eastern culture.
